Mayors Challenge to use more Green Bins in Pleasant Ridge

Twenty five communities have signed up for the Mayor's Recycling Challenge. Each community has been given a goal for signing up their neighbors for new recycling bins. Only residents who never have had a recycling bin before will be counted towards the goal. The communities that meet their goal will receive $250. The community that distributes the most recycling bins will win an additional $1,000 for their community.

Call for “Street Captain” Volunteers

Does your Street have a lead volunteer to serve as liaison to the Community Council?  Street Captains serve as a key link in the communication chain, making sure your street is served by the council and has opportunities to serve.

Street Captains also hand out welcome neighbor packets if someone new moves on your street. These packets are put together free of charge and can be dropped off at your home.  This packet already includes a letter from the captain and town council and all it needs is a smiling face to deliver it. If this is no problem, here are the list of streets left to fill.  Please nominate yourself or an active neighbor on your street.
